How HB Thompson Group collects and uses information through this website, in plain language.

What you send us. When you use a form on this site (Contact, Defining Place Session, Evaluate a Property, or a workshop or webinar registration), we receive what you enter: your name, email, phone, the property location, the project and its timing, an investment range, any listing link, and anything you write. Please do not include Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or similar sensitive information.
Event registration. If you register for a workshop or webinar, we also keep your registration status and whether you attended, and any answer you give about the property or project you are thinking about.
Scheduling. If we invite you to book a Defining Place Session, you may choose a time through a Google Calendar booking page. Google handles the details you enter there, and we receive them as a calendar booking.
Our notes. If you contact us, we keep a record of where the conversation stands (for example, that we offered a Session) so we can follow up properly.
Where you came from. If you send a form, we also record the page you were on, the page where your visit began, the website that referred you, and, if you arrived through a campaign or advertisement, the campaign tags in the link or an advertising click identifier. Your browser holds this temporarily, only for the length of your visit, so it can be attached to your inquiry. It is cleared when you close the tab. We do not use cookies for this.
Technical information. Like most websites, the servers that host this site keep standard technical logs when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the date and time. The fonts on this site are served from the site itself, so no font provider receives information about your visit. The forms also keep a short-lived count of submissions per email address, for about an hour, to limit spam and repeat submissions.
The Guide. The Defining Place Guide is available as a PDF. We do not currently collect anything when it is opened. If we later ask for your email before sending it, we will say so on that page.
What we do not currently use. This site does not currently use analytics, advertising or remarketing cookies, tracking pixels or tags, embedded video, or a mailing-list service, and we do not send text messages. If that changes, we will update this notice first and, where the law requires, ask for your permission before any such technology runs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Inquiries and registrations are stored and notified through Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Gmail and Google Calendar). Online events run on the meeting service named in your confirmation. The site is delivered by our hosting provider. We share information with others only as needed to operate the site and respond to you, or when the law requires it.
We use your email address to respond to your inquiry. If you register for an event, we also use it to send a confirmation with a calendar file, a reminder, and a follow-up for that event, and we may ask what property or project you are thinking about. Registering for an event does not add you to a newsletter or marketing list. We do not currently send a newsletter. If we begin, we will ask your permission first, separately from any inquiry or registration, and every message will include a way to opt out. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We keep inquiries and registrations for as long as needed to respond to you and manage any resulting relationship, and as required by law or for business records. You can ask us to delete your information.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, and to ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, email us at hello@hbthompsongroup.com. We will respond as the law requires, and will not treat you differently for making a request. Because this site does not currently track you across other sites, there is nothing to opt out of; if that changes, we will honor browser opt-out signals where the law requires.
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and access limited to the people who need it, to protect what you send. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please share only what you are comfortable sending.
This site is intended for adults considering a building project and is not directed to children.
